Video clips from three recent comedy projects.
One of the most extraordinary projects of my life - performance or otherwise. This clip is from a clown piece in the "Xiqu" tradition - ("Szichuan Opera" outside its native China). I was chosen by Master Xui of Chengdu, Szichuan for the honor of learning the role and training under him.
I hope that I bring honor to him and to the tradition he shared with me.
Visionary choreographer Peiling Kao led this project, a choreographic response to George Crumb's "electric string quartet," "Black Angels."
I was honored to collaborate as a performer, along with dancers Malia Yamamoto and Marcy Munnerlyn.
"The Micros" was created by J. Wray and J. Rosenkrantz: an animated comedy series for the web, set in the world of online poker. The series enjoyed sudden and stratospheric success until "Poker Black Friday," April 15, 2011. I voiced the lead character, Chase.
